'05 reverse stall! Please help!

Hey guys,

So I put the car into reverse today and when i did the lights all came on (the ones when you first turn the car on) so I fugured it glitched and turned it off. But when I tried to start it again it wouldnt even crank! Jumped started it first-didnt help, looked at fuses-didnt help, tested starter-said its perfect, used a code reader and came up with U1000, call ### for assistance (?!?!). Now my car is stranded in a parking lot because its Sunday! Any ideas what could be wrong? (it has a remote starter as well). Thanks in advance!

It has more than that now. A friend of mine thinks it might be a common problem with this car and remote starters. Something with the remote starter not allowing it to start.

Fixed yet? U1000 is a CAN communication problem, definitely something electrical. Loose wire, burnt wire, bad grounds would be the first areas I would look at.

Not yet. I've looked at fuses so far and found one that was bad but didnt make a difference. I've been hearing that remote starters can have an effect on the transmission but I have not been able to figure out how to bypass it and all i get is "tow it here and pay $75 to look at it' from where i got it installed. I'm leaning towards it being the modual possibly because all lights on the dash come on except the gear indicator and the service engine light blinks 3 times when I try to start it and other times it blinks 4. I'm not sure if I should bother with the modual? I'm reaching for all possible ideas right now because I hate seeing my G broken.

The code you got u1000 is a ground wire problem. You might want to check anything that might got installed recently.

Thanks guys for the help. I cant figure anything out so I'm forced to tow it to the dealer. Just got in loaded onto the flatbed truck (yay? ). I've talked to a lot of people on the phone and I guess its a common thing in Coupes lately when the IPDM gets wet but not in sedans (which mine is). I'll let you guys know what happens so just in case it happens to someone else here, we'll know what it is. They're taking it in tonight so probably wont figure out whats wrong with it anytime soon. Btw, I've heard these remote starters can do some strange things to these cars so I'd watch out, just something I've picked up from some dealerships and remote starter companies.
