Oil Change/Refill question

I just brought my 04 G35x to the dealer for it's first oil change at just under 3k. I came home and parked the car last Tuesday and haven't driven it since.

I went down to my garage today to clean her up a little and to check the oil to make sure it's ok. I checked and the level is between H and L. Is this ok? Should I add 1/2 a quart? If so, it's 5w/30 correct? Ironically, the oil always seemed to be at the same mark (between H and L) before I had it changed. This is why I'm asking, I don't want to add more unless necessary. I plan on doing the next change myself. Thanks!

04 G35x

Re: Oil Change/Refill question

You're fine. Better between lines than over or under. Continue to monitor to ensure you're not having problems. As for grade, book recommends SAE 5W-30 for all ambient temps (esp below 0F). Btw, I switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-30 at 7500 oil change.

Re: Oil Change/Refill question

When you go to do the oil change, make sure you remove the bottom splash guard (filter is located under it). You can get to the filter through a hole but when I tried to do it that way, oil got all over the place! What a Fin mess!

Maybe im just clumsy but ive been removing the guard ever since.
