HELP: Problem with AC and Climate Control

Over the weekend, I began to experiece problems with the Air Conditioner. When set on anything except 60 (61-90) degrees with the AC on, it blows hot air if the heater is on. When you put the AC on 60, that is the only time it blows cold air. Keep in mind the AC switch is on and the same problem exist even if you put it on Auto. What do you think the problem may be? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Re: Problem with AC

Please keep in mind the AC works normal only when on 60 degrees. When set to 61, 65, 72, etc, it blows steaming hot air even with the AC button on.

Re: Problem with AC

the system senses outside temp and reacts accordingly. what is your outside temp when you are trying this?

Re: Problem with AC

The temperature is normal outside, i.e. 70-75 degrees, etc. Something is malfunctioning for sure because everytime I shift the vent mode (feet, upper, etc.), I hear a strange sound from behind the dash that never used to happen before. No matter what the temperature is set to, if you put it on anything 61 degrees and higher, it blows hot air if the heater is on. When you put it on 60 degrees (the lowest setting), that is the only time it blows cold air. By the way, there is no leak in the system because it still gets cold like it is supposed to but only when set to 60 degrees. Do you think something is caught in the way preventing the expansion valve to move behind the dash?

Re: Problem with AC

Why don't you have your dealer take a look at it? It doesn't sound like it's working correctly

Re: Problem with AC

Before taking it to the dealer, I would like to know what the problem may be. Any ideas?

Do you have Z tube? I heard people had problems with the AC and it had something to do with the intake.

Re: HELP: Problem with AC and Climate Control

do you have an aftermarket intake? often times, if you do, it may be rubbing against the AC line creating a hole in it. search for the pic. its been covered in a long thread . . . hopefully its not what happened to you
