I need HELP!!!

Last night, my wife was walking towards the car to go home and guess what she found? Some SOB hit our car on the passenger side while backing up. Can anybody in Dallas tell me of a good body shop that can take care of this? It's a dent on the rear driver's side fender and a scratched up rear bumper.

Re: I need HELP!!!

Really, I can't believe the dealer would put it's emblem on the car. I have asked that they not do that when my car arrives.

Is that really necessary?

Sorry about your car, that sucks. I had that happen to my Z a few years ago. Stupid drivers **** me off, but those who hit and run infuriate me.

Good luck getting it fixed.

Re: I need HELP!!!

what tcatrio said. Maybe they didn't do as well as you and were aiming for the dealer name !! Take it off as a precaution (!) and clean up the look. As far as the damage, looks like you should be able to pull back the original appearance without a problem. Hope all goes well. ...dean

Re: I need HELP!!!

Yes, that is the dealer name. I almost pulled it the other day, but I decided to wait for the warmer weather. I don't want to risk pulling the paint or something stupid like that.
I went to a body shop just to see how they can fix this and the guy said they'll pull it out with some kind of slide hammer, straighten the metal further by hitting it from the back side and using a small amount of body filler to make it smooth again. As for the bumper cover, it is dented a little bit. He said they may have to apply a little heat to bring it back out and that it should not be a problem to repair as well.

Damn, I'm pissed!!!

Re: I need HELP!!!

Body filler for that ?? I don't know, it doesn't look that bad. You might try checking some other places for their method of repair. Hate to see you get bondo'd if you don't have to.

For the dealer name, I don't think you have a concern pulling paint. All that is cured. Hit up on the detail forum to verify timing and method. Good luck.
