Lack of fluid level gauge

I am going to swap out the automatic trans in an 03 G35 sedan. Neither the unit in the car or the unit going in a fluid level gauge, also known as a dipstick. How do you know when the trans is full. The real problem is I do not have any way of knowing if the replacement unit has lost any fluid since it was removed. Any help is appreciated.

Buy a replacement dipstick from the dealership. They're like $25.

^+1. If the dealership plays dumb or tries to sell you just another cap (what the car actually came with) just go to a Nissan place and get one for an 04 350Z with an Automatic.

the G has been out long enough now that you can probably find some at salvage yards... find an 04+ and it will undoubtedly have the dip stick (much cheaper than buying new from dealer).
