A Fair Price

Hello to all.
I've been looking into getting an '04 G35X and have found one in state(I'll call it car A ) and a few out of state( I'll call it car B ).
I was wondering if it seems like a good deal on car A even if it is just over INVOICE?

I've decided on the AWD and I want the Twilight Blue (Just really like the color) The only problem with the car A is it has the Areo pkg and I really don't like the rear Spoiler. So the dealer was going to try to "switch" trunk lids with another Twilight Blue.Good Idea or Bad?

Car B dent have the Areo pack and is how I want it, So to make a long story longer how important is it to buy local VS out of state.... AND should I fee bad if I cant get it for Invoice?

Thanks for and help or suggestions

Re: A Fair Price

I wouldn't worry about switching trunk lids. I have to assume that both lids were painted at the factory so they should be identical in color. As far as the mechanical aspect of swapping lids...a competent dealer shouldn't have a problem.

Price question. How hard have you worked to get the price you're being quoted that's slightly over invoice? I don't know if that's not a good price but have found that I only get the best price after working the numbers with the potential dealer for some time. Whether it's sitting with the salesperson and hashing over your required price ($500 under invoice for example) while the salesperson goes back and forth to the manager or presenting a firm offer from a competing dealership, I have never gotten the best offer upfront or without working for it. I also find that the willingness to negotiate varies widely by region.

I bought from a dealership 280 miles from where I live. It was easier to buy from them when the local dealer (the only Infiniti dealership in the Western Washington) was playing hard ball on prices. Yes, I bought a G35X. I picked it up in March and paid about $34k with premium package. You should be able to get yours for a lot less. I don't worry about not having bought it locally. I will still take it to a the local dealership for warranty work and 15k service when necessary. That's an entirely separate matter from the sale.

Good luck. I have been extemely pleased with my G35X!

Re: A Fair Price

Thanks for the reply.
I have been able to find a "04 G35X w/ premium/full size spare/wood(didn't care for)/splash guards/trunk mat
Internet price 32,800.
Still seems a little high for this late in the yr.
Local wasn't that low for with almost same options.
Haven't "sat down" wanted to make sure I was in the right place before I put myself thought that...LOL

Thanks again,

I got my G for invoice over six months ago. You should be able to get one for under invoice at this point.
