Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

Mike,
That was ... unexpected!

Admit it, you sacred yourself silly when we went to Buttonwillow. That's when you realized the G is a lot more than you can handle and it's time to get something more managable such as an Insight.

... only kidding!

Those Insights are cool little cars. I personally wouldn't mind adding that new Accord V6 Hybrid to the stable ... more powerful and faster than the standard V6 Accord, but a heck of a lot more fuel efficient with electric motor assist and 2-cylindars deactivated during cruise.

If you're still thinking of AutoXing with car #2, then look no further than an used Miata. They are dirty cheap and mightily fast around the conez ... but you already knew that.

Hope you didn't vote for Bush. I was paying a $1 a gallon when Clinton was president... you should see the home heating bill I got this month. It's going to be a tough 4 yrs waiting for that moron to finally be out of office

Wait one minute here, gas prices started to increase in the spring of 2000, before Bush was elected, so who's fault was that, since you think the President is to blame, guess it was Clinton!

Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

You guys are great! I appreciate the support. Hydrazine, I like the picture of the B-B-Q'd rabbit. That was quite a Saturday. Clint your right the Miata is defenitly on top of the list. I was also looking at the Mini Cooper S. I drive about 1000 miles a week. I was averaging about 20 miles per gallon, at $2.60 per gallon. The G just begs to be driven hard.

I will send some pictures of me AutoXing with the Insight. That should be cool. There are a couple of guys that are running back east and in Canada. I wonder if anyone has shown up in LA or San Diego at an SCCA event. I bet I get a few questions.

Thanks again guys for all the good times. It's like a fraternity. Maybe I'll show up at Chino GTG with the Insight.

Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

No one could seriously conclude that the Clinton Administration was the cause of today's high gas prices. Most likely, these prices result from the combined effort of the five largest oil drillers and refiners (ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, ConocoPhillips, BP-Amoco-Arco and Shell) to control the domestic market with anti-competitive behavior. Their activities affect a clear two thirds of the domestic market.

Many find it unsettling that all of this occurring in a climate where the oil and gas industry is giving millions and millions of dollars primarily to the Republican Party and the Bush Administration has secret meetings with them to hammer out its energy policy.

But of course, you and me, we'll never know for sure because our publicly elected officials are operating in secrecy.

Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

I sold it for $20,500.00. A 17 year old kid bought it. Seems like he really enjoys it. If I were 17 and driving a G35 I would enjoy it as well.

Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

Must be nice to drive a G when you're 17 yrs old. Kids nowaday got too much luxuries. Not that I'm any better with my own 2 littles ones. Come to think of it, my first car when I'm at 17 was 3 year old Pontiac Firebird. I enjoy the car so much cause I just love to pretend I'm Knight Rider, haha.

Re: Had my heart ripped out today!

I just got back from the UK a few weeks back. Gas is 86 pence a liter, or $7US/gallon. America has been getting a bargain for a long time and still is (relative to the rest of the Western world). The same people that bitch about $2.75/ gallon will go and spend $40/carton for smokes or spend $6-8/day on Starbucks. Face it, adjusted for inflation, gas is cheaper than it was 25 years ago, and still cheaper than bottled spring water for god sake!

This is so true, please look at what a new car cost 25 years ago, or a house, and what they cost now, no one seems to realize these things, they just bitch about gas prices. Oh, and BTW, it has never been $2.75 here yet!
