GGGGGGGG-
I have pics of the reverse light install for a DIY ready. I will be installing the brake lights tomorrow morning and will post a complete DIY soon after.

Tkman00-
The rear light kit from everythingg35.com comes with both the reverse lights and the rear brake lights, so its a complete kit. I wish I would have known that sooner as I had already bought the reverse lights from the dealer last week. Oh well, ill just take them back tomorrow.

I do like the looks of the 2005 lights better. They do look more sportier to me. Im glad they are a plug and play install! Easy as apple pie!

g35papa, so no drilling or special fitment issues? How long would you suspect it takes to install them? (Rear Lights, and the Brake Lights) Any concerns about leaks?

i just installed mine last night. got them done within an hour...and i had no idea what to do going in. you basically have to remove the carpet lining in the trunk, held by a few push tabs and then you'll see the screws for the lights.

each light is held in by four nuts, just remove those. slightly pull on the lights from the outside to get them free and unplug the power.

remember to take the side trim off and replace it on the new lights (you'll see when you take the lights off).

i only did the taillights, so i don't know the process for the reverse lights.

Just finished up the break lights. Pics below

It took me about a hour for everything (reverse and brake lights). I actually think it took longer to install the reverse lights than the break lights.

NO drilling, absolutely NO modifications were needed to complete this install. Perfect fit, seals just like it came from factory. I will give more details in the DIY.

Off to start that now.

I am actually thinking about getting just the '05 reverse lights which it seems they're about $120 for the set; I think I like the way they look with the round white reverse lights in the middle. I bet they would look good with my current brake lights. I'd be interested to see the DIY on installing the reverse lights. Does anyone know what G35Driver.com's price is for just a set of the '05 reverse lights or are they just selling them as a set with the brake lights?

Im working on the DIY for the complete install as I write this.

You can try calling the people over at www.everythingg35.com to see if they will sell you the reverse lights seperately. Right now they only have posted the complete rear light kit, which is a huge bargain if want the whole set.
Compared to the prices at my local dealer, I saved $320 going with the kit on everythingg35.

My local dealer had the reverse lights for $60 each. He did tell me that prices may vary on the East coast.

The entire installation is very easy.......DIY coming soon!

Thanks, G35Papa. Yes, I would like to see your DIY when you're done and you post it up here. I'm not sure I'm really into the entire brake lights (I still like my '04.5 Sedan brake lights), especially for more than $434, but for $120, I could see replacing my reverse lights with the cooler-looking '05 reverse lights...I think ALL of my mods combined cost about that much! The '05 G35 Sedan reverse lights are similar to our '03 FX35 reverse lights with the white circle light in the middle of the red...better looking than the white wedge-shape imo. Thanks for the info!

G35papa,

i'm glad i saved you some money! i called up the guys at everythingg35.com and requested it. (i buy so much from them! TEIN FLEX, camber kit, etc.) so i think they hooked me up...and passed the savings on to you .

very nice DIY! i made a DIY for my grill install and i know what you mean by it taking so much time! but hey, the guys on this forum are very helpful and it's worth a few extra mintues to do something right.

(i just did my taillights, but i am liking the reverse light more and more)
If anyone has pics of the 05 taillights AND reverse lights on a black car, please let me know.

Shaun
