I've got both brake and reverse lights on now. I have to say that you must see them together at night in person for the full effect. I love' em. Expensive but if you can swing it go for it.

Happy Holidays,

X

Ok fellas, got my clear corners and taillights installed.. as soon as the brake lights get in stock, they will be shipped to me and then I'll have my rear conversion complete

Mad props to G35papa for the DIY!

I know...<sigh>.

I've ordered my set since December, but they are waiting for the reverse lights to arrive. They said the lights will arrive some time in mid January.

GGGGGGGG-Do what I did, ask them to ship you your brake lights when they come, and the tails now.

FYI...Dealer cost is about $380 ...Retail is $700. for the entire set. Did mine about a month ago...look great and easy to do. You should be able to buy them for about $450 to $500 with a little work and negotiating.JBX

Hmmm I orderd from Justin (everything G35) on 12-9-04
Talked to him around 12-15-04 because of a credit card issue and he said I should get the lights that friday (12-17-04)

I noticed my credit card got charged on 12-16-04 for $457.34

And im still waiting Hopefully its just the holidays that are causing the delays...

I orded the tail lights today from everything G35. They tell me the reverse lights are still on backorder - thinks it will be another 2 weeks or so before they're in.

Can anyone tell me how difficult this installation will be (I'm not the world's best mechanic)? How long did it take you? Are there any special tools I will need?

need a 10mm socket, and a flathead realistically,, g35papa wrote a REAL nice writeup in DIY, I haven't done the brake lights, but the taillamps took about 15 mins to swap out realistically.

Cut and paste the below link into your browser (only way the link works)
Let me know if you have specific questions. You can PM me.

Have any of you checked your local dealer for the reverse lights? Not sure of the price though. My local dealer wants $60 each for the reverse lights. Might be because of the location though.

Good luck and post pics!!!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays!

Thanks G35papa. Looks like a great DIY. I also downloaded the section from the service manual on Infiniti's website (had to pay $19.99 for a 1 day subscription) and their diagram's for the ligt switch are less detailed than yours! One question though; the service manual says not to re-use the packing seal around the lights. I think from your DIY that you re-used it. Did you have any problems with this? Not sure if I should order new seals while I'm waiting for the lights to come in.

Assuming your careful. you can re-use the seals as they come out all together in one piece.

If you are speaking of the actual seals that are on the light fixtures themselves, (which I think you are) the new lights you get from everythingg35 will come with new packing seals right on the lights. You will NOT need to order any new seal packs. This mod really is "Plug and Play".

If you are speaking of the little rubber strip thats between the trunk molding and brake light fixture (attatched to the brake light itself, details in my DIY) that piece can be resused. Carefully pull off the cosmetic plastic piece. (again details in the DIY).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Good luck and post pics!
