Newsflash!! I traded my '07 G for an '05 G
Well, I did it, it's done! I flipped and wrecked my '06 G35X in February here in Boston and bought an '07 which I did not care for as much. I kept looking all over New England for another '06 or '05 and after almost buying a few, I finally made a deal Friday on a 2005 G35X, the exact same model and options and color as the '06 I wrecked. It's the silver platinum color with the non-Bose stereo. I got some money back on my '07 as a refund. Granted, it wasn't a bargain trading down but at some point I had to accept that it was not going to be a win-win for me. The '05 I got is great, has a couple body blemishes but otherwise is in excellent shape with 69,300 miles on it. My '06 had 53K miles so getting the higher miles on the '05 is also a step back. But I loved my '06 and didn't love the '07. Hard to explain to some and many will disagree and that's ok, but all I can say is the '07 just didn't do it for me. It's not naughty enough looking or sounding. The 05-06 years have sportier suspension and handling. At least that's my impression. And now I can SEE the blinkers and speedometer because the wheel isn't blocking them, and my hands are not sore from driving that chubby '07 steering wheel. Now if I could only get rid of that annoying sunroof creaking that I get every time I go over uneven pavement..... Grrrrrr....My '06 did this too. funny some things never change.... still, no regrets.

Congrats and I know it has been a long journey and glad you passed on the other vehicle. You will enjoy this car for long term and only you can decide which model you prefer. My 05 when I picked it up the moonroof had a lot of drag on it and would creak when closing. I cleaned the moonroof tracks and used some moly grease along with wd/40 to lube the tracks and hinges. This helped with totally getting rid of every noise out of the sunroof and now it is very smooth and no DRAG.

1.) Open sunroof
2.) Take a couple of q-tips and clean the channels of the moonroof tracks.
3.) Inspect the wind deflector to see if it's moving easily. If not, apply silicone spray to hinges and push the deflector down a few times.
4.) Lubricate the moonroof tracks with a moly grease or lithium grease. I used lithium because it's what I had on me.
5.) Open and close sunroof a few times to let the grease fill the tracks properly.
6.) Reapply grease to tracks and wipe away excess.
7.) Lubricate hinges of moonroof that allow it to tilt with silicone spray.
A good rule of thumb is to not apply lithium grease to any rubber surfaces.
