Well made a mistake....

So I was looking to get a 03-04 sedan 6mt, but couldn't make a decision, so long story short my dad in short made me buy this car. Well not happy with driving an at so right when the title comes for this it's getting sold. I now know what I want definitely so the search will continue again shortly.

Here is my current car:

Yeah I had my doubts too but the situation was kind of interesting so I will just have to wait a couple more months to get what I truly want...

Yikes. An automatic AND a v6?!? Yeah... it's a dog

My 94 TA was an auto, but at least it had V8 grunt like crazy. Then the 2000 6MT WS-6 was waaaaayy more fun to drive.

I can tell you one thing though. The 5AT in the G absolutely PWNS the stupid 4L60e 4AT in the f-body platform. Granted, it's no 6MT, but the Nissan auto is leaps and bounds ahead of the old GM slushbox.

Haha no it's an ls1, sorry for the confusion. The 4l60e isn't the best no especially with a 2.73 gear ratio. It is fairly fun to drive if I wanted an automatic to drive I suppose but i'm a manual driver at heart. This car actually is very rare. it's one of about 20 in that color for that year.

I just can't wait to get into a g right now.

^Oh ok. I thought it said firebird, not formula. My bad.
Still a pain though. And I feel you on the FD ratio. My 94 had the same one
That's easy enough to fix though.
On the bright side, you probably get better/same mileage as a G and the LS absolutely LOVES bolt-ons
Have you done the EGR return mod and checked the TPS range?

Yeah it gets very similar mileage to the g's.

I have not done those mods no. I do not believe the 01-02 have the egr return mod though because they have the ls6 intake manifold on them. I would probably do them but I'm going to get rid of the car in a couple weeks probably so I'm just going to leave it bone stock!

Yeah, I lol'd.

At least you have something with a better motor than a VQ, even if it does have a slushbox.

Oh yeah. I think you're right about the manifold. Might want to double check.

You should check the TPS though. It's not really a 'mod' so much is it is fixing a problem.
Some of the TPSs don't go all the way to 100%, only 99% even at WOT so the ecm never accesses it's WOT maps. It's pretty easy to check and easy to fix though, and worth it from a performance standpoint.

What's wrong with the vq? At least they don't have piston slap like the ls1's
