Stillen vs Borla... on G35 Sedan/AT
Jimmy, it still has the bassy drone at the RPM's you specified; my bet is it'll be louder then your custom rig since the stock muffler is still so ultra-restrictive. I found it untolerably loud and my g/f wanted to kill me, so I invested some time and money and added a muffled magnaflow xpipe into the system, it helped significantly and only minimally drones now at that same RPM range.

BrianV, i think your over the top with the sound of the exhaust, ill bet you that with my stupid mod of removing the resonator and creating a costume tube to replace it , the stillen exhaust cant be that loud really. It cant be that loud i mean come on my stupid mod was rediculos I HAVE NO RESONATORS the stillen cat-back has 2 of them mabe you will say they are not that good but il bet you there better than having nothing right?
Trust me my mod sounds inside the car like having constant BASSS i mean a very deep BASS that you can nearly feel down your throught and chest but i like it when i am in the mood of racing and having a heavy foot. Remember i have no resonators i think the stillen exhaust will be best for me.
Overall i thinck STILLEN Exhaust is the best exhaust with performance out there for the G Sedan

Hey BrianV,
You must have some seroiusly sensative ears, because its no where as loud as you describe. You do get some droning around 4000 rpms, but its not that bad, in fact if you turn on the radio ad med. volume you dont really even hear it.. When I first got mine on I was a little surprised at how much louder it was then the stock system, but grew to like it after awhile... plus it does quiet down some after you get a few thousand miles on it.
Here's my advice on aftermarket exhausts...
If you dont want increased noise, Its best to advoid aftermarket exhaust, as all exhaust that make additional HP are going to be louder then stock.
I know some exhausts (like the Nismo) sound pretty close to stock during cruising speeds and only sounds loud at Full Throttle. But there not going to make the HP the Stillen does... Actually even some people complain the Nismo is to lound, which to me is funny because it only sounds slight louder then stock during normal driving.. So people like this should not spend there money on an exhaust.
Hey Jimmy I would also recommend the Stillen Big Air Flow Intake & 350z tube... I have them on my setup and it seemed to quiet the sound of the exhaust a bit..

Thanks Dan, thank you for your recomendations i know thats a prety awesome intake a friend of mine that has a G as well has it on his car and from a stock ET on 1/4mile of 14.8 he ended up with a big boost when hi added the stillen high flow intake helped him to get to the 14.6 big improvements infront of me jeje, but i installed a different intake the INJEN Cold Aire INTAKE and no i have not taken my G to the track with the intake but withought the intake i did the same as my freind did 14.8 i am going to the track tomorrow and hoping to get as good performance as my friend did i have had the intake for a few month's now but i have bean realy busy with University Work and i love how the agressive sound of the intake in the high rpms as well as the low rpms, but now i have finished for the semester and going straight to the track tommorw see what my intake can give me, o and my friend's car and mine are both auto.
Then i am going to call and start my order of the Stillen EXhaust for the sedan and will be going to the track again hoping to see some improvements.

I'm with Coolie and I'm old. I luv the Stillen every time I start the G up. When you romp on the accelerator it is heaven. The kick in the pants after 3000 RPM is awesome.

I have an X so I can't do the Y-pipe as of yet....but was very happy w/the results I got w/ the Stillen "single " rear pipe ($317.00 through Stillen) and an 05' G35 mid-pipe (approx $200 plus gaskets from Infiniti) I saved monster weight and got great sound (just right and not too loud) with good performance gains....bcool...JBX
I have driven a sedan with the Stillen TD. While I support the notion that it will be the leading contenter power wise. Anyone considering the exhaust would to well to request a ride and drive with someone close to you that has the exhaust on their sedan. I does increase cabin noise to a not so small degree, I compleatly understand why a few owners of the stillen TD sedan system complain about droaning. AT car's will be even more effected since the a/t tranny will conspire to keep the engine in the rpm zone most likely to cause the noise. Just to say it, it's also a good reason to check for a G35 gathering near you so you can ask for a ride and drive at that time.
The borla has also dyno'd well, but also suffer's from simular noise issues. The Fuji would be the best bet to avoid the noise issue, make certain that the Fuji y-pipe you'd pair it with has a 70mm output. If it's a 76.3mm output, by the Jic Y-pipe instead which is also 76.3mm, but is a better design IMO.

I think I managed to save myself from the often complained about drone/noise by using the Coupe mid-pipe. Sounds very similar to a stock 05' coupe....just a hair throatier/louder.JBX

Stillen and Borla just plan suck compare to Fujitsubo.... Stillen and borla exhaust should NOT even be fitted onto our cars.... it just downgrade the G35
