Sold my '06 350Z about two years ago & last Saturday I bought a '05 G35 Sedan. The guy who owned it before me had ordered rotors for it but he said they had sent the G35X rotors instead of the RWD ones. Curious, I have been trying to find out what could be so different between the two...
I tried searching this topic on google & on the forum itself without any luck. I have also hit a couple of different part websites. One website tells me they're compatible and one website listed slightly different dimensions. At this point I'm not sure what to believe and was wondering if any of you guys/gals here had any insight into that. Thanks a lot.

^Bigger rotors on 05 RWD vs. 05 AWD. 06 AWD would have the same rotor sizes.

As previously stated, the 05x for some reason wears the 03/04 style brakes...which feature the smaller rotors F&R and single piston front calipers
in 06, the x received the same larger diameter brakes and 2-piston front calipers as the RWD cars

You can also try calling in to an Infinti dealer and ask the service advisor.

While we're on the topic, do you happen to know if the rear calipers are different? I know the '05's require an additional bracket to fit the bigger rotors, but is the caliper itself any different?Originally Posted by Mustang5L5

http://www,infinitipartsusa.com has some confusing information. The 04 setup has the same price for left and right rear calipers ($210), but the 06 setup has different prices, with $210 for the left and $357 for the right. The pistons, brake pads, and caliper overhaul kits for 03-06 are all the same price as well.
I remember there was one component that was the same, and I know the rotor, pad, and torque member are different. I could be wrong, but I think they are the same.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure if they were made out of the same material or not. I think I saw you mention somewhere that the newer brakes are aluminum whiile the old version is iron. Didn't know if that was just for the fronts or what.Originally Posted by Mustang5L5

I wonder how difficult it is to swap out dust shields. Probably a PITA.
