05 Sedan HID Headlight Issue

Okay guys, My Passenger headlight stopped working. I bought a new bulb ($100.00, never buying a car with HIDs again!) and after installing the new bulb, still no pass side headlight. My fogs work along with everything else. How do I check to see if the ballast is bad, or if its wiring? It just stopped out of no where 1 day. Car is an 05 with only 57k on it. Its no longer under waranty. Thanks for the help in advance, and if anyone knows if there is a DIY to changing the ballast or what ever is wrong. Thank!

use/put the ballast on the other side and see if it works to check. The ballast is easy to change, just unscrew the 3 bolts and unplug the ignitor

Just so you know...the aftermarket sells hid bulbs for much cheaper. I paid $15 for a pair of hid bulbs for my '06

Sounds like a ballast. An don't give up on HID, they're vastly superior to regular setups. I bought a set of 6000K bulbs a little over a year ago for $30 from someone in the Marketplace. One has been a little flaky lately so I bought another set for $20 and they look fine. $100 is retail store pricing.

HID kit, 2 ballasts, 2 bulbs here for 1/3rd what you paid for a bulb.:

That kit is recommended for a 55W setup. The G35 has a 35W setup.

I have fogs from DDM tuning, but BuckEye is correct, the headlights are 35w not 55w. Im checking the fuse tonight....Does anyone know where the fuse is? I hope Im lucky that its just the fuse and not the ballast. Where can I get a ballast besides the stealership if its not the fuse? Thanks for the replies

As someone else mentioned, swap the ballasts and see if it works on the passenger. And I don't know why your warranty is up, I thought it was 5 years/60k.

I bought the car from a private seller and I think he said the warranty was up at the time. Il call the dealership tomorrow and see if its still under warranty.

I checked the fuse, and Just my luck, it is not blown. Therefore it has to be the ballast.
Ill try swapping the ballast and see if that works...but I dont wanna have to go thru the "checking fuses stage" if switching them could blow the fuse.

You are reading

Raptor 55 Watt Kits Mail Order Only

The kit is either 35 or 55 watt. The price you see is for 35W
