Take it to the strip where you can get a slip and compare that way. Without that, the races are pretty meaningless. I've beaten LS1 F-bodies at the strip to the finish line only because I outreacted them and got a better 60'. From the stands, it would look like I have the faster car, but in the reality they had a better ET/MPH though they got to the finish line last.
BTW, I'm not knocking the G37. It's quick and I'm not surprised it's outrunning a bolt-on 1st gen sedan. It's a well known fact that the 7AT G and Z cars are faster than their manual counterparts.

IMO these races were not meaningless , reaction times aside, 60' times aside It was just pure fun to race "down & Dirty"
