Best/Easiest to install AUX input for 06 G35 Sedan

I think I found the infamous trunk SAT connector

and its located here?... this is the SAT connector right?

Anyway... would the PA15-INFI that uses the trunk SAT connector be the easiest/best option for AUX? If so, any suggestions on wiring it through to the at least the cup holder/arm rest area?

If not, what do you recommend and why?

Also, if I'm not allowed to make new threads so frequently, please let me know and I'll stop. I plan to be a member for a while, I just thought I needed a new thread to grab more opinions on this one.

Thanks guys!

That's the connector. It's not behind the seat like the 03-05 models, but every reference says it is (incorrectly)

I am using the OeM iPod kit. Only works for iPod so if you want to hook other things up, you'll need a true AUx connector.

I routed the wiring down behind the rear seat and mounted the control box UNDER the rear seat. There is a small pocket there that it fit perfectly into. I can't feel it at all through the seat, and to be honest I forget which side it's even mounted on now.

From there, i snaked the connector wire under the carpet on the driveshaft tunnel and up into the center console. There are a few screws to undo to be able to lift the center console up slightly. That way you can get the connector underneath the carpet and the bottom pf the console. From there, i drilled a hole and ran the wire into the console. I used a grommet tp make it clean. No pics though, but search for the OEM iPod adapter DIY and it will show you everything I just described,

^ That's exactly how I ran mine, except I didn't drill a hole in the console, I just removed the cigarette lighter/power socket from the center console and ran the wires through there.

Here's the way I did my first run through there. I picked up real fish tape since then, works quite a bit better.

Wrathernaut, that looks really helpful, do you have any more pics? I was thinking I would just run my wire through a hole by that sat connector and then run along the back passangers seat, then probably cross over under the passenger seat and into the center console area, but your way intrigues me. How did you get it to come out the back seat area? Do you have to remove the seats?

I bought the PAC Audio module (I think it was the aPAC-NIS1) and installed it behind the factory radio. It makes the stereo think you hooked up satellite radio and you can get 2 AUX inputs. I use it for my Sirius radio that I mounted right next to the AC controls. The hardest part about installing the PAC Audio box was fitting it behind the stock radio, there is not much extra space back there. If you are not going to hook up an iPod you may want to look into this approach.

^I used the PAC aPAC-NIS1 as well to listen to Pandora radio from my phone. Installed a mount up in my non-nav cubby hole to hold it and charge it as well. It's an easy install. Follow the how-to to take apart your center console. Unlplug the wires in the back of the radio, plug in the new wires and the old ones plug in to them. Put everything back together and you now have 2 separate aux inputs (can only use one at a time obviously, but you can have one headphone jack and one rca available to plug into anything that makes sound.

Here's my install:

Mine fit up under the stock radio fine, just have to position the wires a certain way while you slide the radio back into place. I drilled a hole in my cubby but you could do the same in your center console or just pull the connection wires up under the dash between the carpet.

Just got my adapter today and put it in. The aux cord is too short though the way I routed it. Which was basically towards the back passenger door. If I take off the trim right behind the back seats will there be an opening to route it under the seats? If not, recommendations for getting it up the center to the console area using a shorter route than the door?

You could just buy an extension from radio shack for a couple of bucks.
