I just bought my 2006 G35x yesterday, and a few times now if I put in the key the cylinder just stays locked. I have fiddled with the steering wheel, flipping the key, etc and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

Is this a common issue? Am I missing something? The key is in all the way.

Have you tried all the keys? I hope you got both of them. I assume this key worked as you got the car home from the dealer?

There was only one key and remote.

Here's the history:

1. Test drive 1 and 2 yesterday...no problems
2. Starting car to drive it home after buying it...didn't turn. Salesman got in and it worked right away.
3. Drove to work this morning...took a few tries then worked
4. Drove home from work today...took a few tries then worked
5. Driving to class tonight...took a couple minutes worth of tries.

This is regular key? Not ikey?

It's not the steering wheel lock engaging is it?

This is the key I have. It doesn't feel like it's the steering wheel...it feels like the ignition cylinder or something related to the key.

Do not know if it is related. I use the proximity key and therefore never put it in the ignition. I would say about 1 in 20 times I can't turn the ignition lock unless I fiddle with it (not the steering wheel).

Yeah, I just discovered the iKey last night, so that will do. Still though...

Thanks for the help!
