ok, so i heated up the emblem with a blow dryer for about 5 mins, removed the emblem and then proceeded to keep blow drying the left over adhesive. i got off as much with my thumb as i could and then started to use wd 40 and a rag to rub the rest off. my question is, i can still see the g35x shadow still there, how do i get rid of this?

Use a rubbing compound and buff it and it will come off. Something like Meguire's ScratchX or their Ultimate Compound should work on it.

time!!!! just when ever you do a detail on your car it will slowly start to go away.

Rubbing compound is very abrasive. Try a polishing compound first to see if that does the trick. Then, when the "shadow" is all gone, give it a coat of wax.

I used ScratchX on mine, buffing by hand and it came out perfect. All residue gone, no scratches.

im a noob do i just buff it with a normal towel or is there something special?

You'll want to use something that's microfiber. Like a microfiber towel or microfiber pad for waxing. Then just pour it on and buff really hard.

ok the letters feel indented in the car im hoping i didnt mess it up when removing them

apply the polish and buff the trunk lid with a soft microfiber towel. wipe it off with a clean microfiber towel. you can take care of something like this by hand (no equipment needed).

Seeing as how my car is an 04, I used Meguiars Cleaner Wax after I debadged and it worked great.

OP

1. Acquire Meguairs Scratch X 2.0
2. Acquire Applicator pads(they sell 2 packs at advance or Autozone)
3. Clean the trunk, so no dirt on it
4. Apply a dot like half a penny size onto the applicator pad
5. Apply some pressure and Work it in, Work on the first "I and N" do not do all the letters at the same time.
6. After working it in(will probably take longer then the video below), Use a microfiber cloth and use car soap and water(to clean off the polishing oils) or 50/50 IPA wipe (50% water and 50% Isopropyl Alcohol mixed in a spray bottle) you do not want to keep the Polish on the paint for the sun to dry it..ect
7. Inspect your work on the first Two letters. If it looks good continue to the next two letters.
