Couple Questions - Price and Wheels
Couple Questions - Price and Wheels
I think I've decided on an '05 G35X 5AT; went and test drove one yesterday and loved it. Negotiated a price of $500 over invoice, which brings the price to 37,587.00 (premium, navigation, set of 5 17" chrome wheels, xm radio, destination). So I just need to add tax and tags.
First question. Good price?
Second Question. Wheels? The 17" chrome is a pricey option, and I wasn't realy paying attention to the wheel options while I was there; and the brochure and website do not show the wheel options. So; 1) does anyone have pictures of the base and option wheels (17") for comparisson? 2) If I don't want the chrome wheels; will they take em off and replace with base wheels (I also would like to switch the xm for sirius). I need to take possesion of the car this week; before I head out of town for the holidays; so ordering one (even from a different lot) may not be an option.
Bonus Question: How much can you haggle on the interest rate. I have a very high FICO; is that enough leverage to negotiate a 0-2% 60mo loan in the absence of any specific promotions?
I realy appreciate any feedback, and am looking forward to joining the club.

500 over invoice is a very reasonable deal. In the absence of promotional rate, FICO score is only good to secure whatever the lowest rate Infiniti could offer you at the time. Is this your first time financing a car?
I thought $500 over invoice sounded good (it is actualy better than the 5% profit over dealer cost that carbuyingtips.com recommends).
Nope, not the first time financing. Actualy this is my fourth; but I never realy considered using my FICO to try to negotiate a better interest rate.
This time I figured, if you can negotiate on the price, why not on the interest rate. Anyone have experience negotiating an interest rate lower than the present FMV rates; 4-5% for 60mos seems to be the going rate? (Not just with dealers, but with banks, credit unions, and other lenders.)
Really wish I could find the wheel options somewhere.
Edit - Found the wheel options.
