I used the headlight kit. Basically any light polish and/or high grit sandpaper will do the trick but they'll eventually become hazy again. Mine looked good for a couple months and now they are starting to look like poo again.

One thing I hated on mine was there's still this green tint you can see @ night around the edge from the side view. Same as here:

Did I just not get towards the edge well enough? If I took the headlights out and polished up the edge where it wraps around would it get rid of this? Or is there any other way to get rid of it (such as taking them apart, sanding, and reclearing them would they look like new?

I am having the same problem with teh yellowish green around teh outside of my headlights. I would love to know a good way to get rid of it as well

This is answered in the last post on the previous page to get rid of that just take the headlights off completely and do it ,it doesn't really bother me now because my whole headlight was like that and when I say whole I mean literally 100% of it I just put my bumper back on my lights are resealed so with a total of 17 dollars(5$ for sand paper and 12 for the sealant) my headlights look brand new better than spending $800 that's for sure

Here's the link for the sealant I've used on other peoples lights and my own I used this for the 1st time over a year ago on my mothers car and it never fogged up and never used plastix on it since then either

+1 on the sealant, I found this stuff at my local autozone. After my first round of headlight restoration they lasted about 3 months. The second time around I used this sealant afterwards and its been over a year now and they look great. Plus I think the sealant is good if you like to wax your headlights, it cuts back on some of the yellow hazing/tint..

not to thread jack . but what i do .. and everyone asks me how my headlights look brand new all the time is...

get chrome / aluminum polish

or

autozone blue magic headlight restore

some windex

and

autozone meguiars ultimate wash and wax (yellow liquid)

get dry sock or shirt.. pour blue magic head restore
onto headlight.. with sock rub in circular motion . til it gets dry ..
let sit for few mins..
get another sock or shirt .. wipe off in circular motion ( wipe off hard )
after all resdue is off.. windex spray onto headlight
wipe dry with another shirt or sock
after wash car with maguire wash and wax
pour some onto head lights
scrub hard on head lights..

dry..

wait..

pour maybe a dab of blue magic again.. few little.. rubb and work onto headlight
. let sit.. and dryy .. rub off and clean off blue magic ..
let sit for a few secs more ..
windex and wipe off

all done...

do for a few times or everytime u wash car.

and it will look like mines

Ya but my lights stay like that I don't have to do it everytime wash the car for that much I would just use the plastix and the sealant every week like I was when I do them they get a fresh start like new and its not a thread jack I'm more than intrested in your process everyone working together is what makes Driver so great

when i say everytime a car wash its because the left over blue resadue.

when i do it . i put a good amount on there and become very aggressive with it and making a mess and gettin on my fender and bumper

thats the only reason on y i say do it with the car wash
.. i only wash my car twice or 3 times a month .

i would say if your head lights looked like yours. do it 2 or 3 times a week. for about a month.. and it would become clear and then wouldnt have to do it for another hlf a year or so.. but i would suggest just doing it everytime on washing the car so you wont have that problem down the road..

i dont think theres a 1 time solution. head lights are a up keep also.. like waxing the car

i dont do it everytime.. like i mention. i only do it when i wash the car since my headlights arent as bad..

so what im trying to say is. after you reached the desire point of clearness
then do the process everytime when u wash..

the 3M kit i bought was $19 at auto zone
starts with 500 grit (which i skipped)
then 800
then 3000
then the abrasive polish on the supplied pad.
took 30 min to do 2 headlights
