Muffler & resonater delete?

Ok guys so iv had my 5at sedan for about 2 months now and iv pritty much gotten down pat how the car functions. now with that being said iv been thinking about going with a custom dual exhuast setup with a cherry bomb muffler but for the time being iv just unbolted the muffler and boy the car is 10 times more fun to drive. the noise dosent bother me at all i dont care about drone or any of that all i really care about is hering it groul at 4500 rpm lol now i unbolted my muffler and it isnt going back on any time soon cause i broke off one of the studs coming off the back of the flange but now im thinking about just riping every thing from up under the car but leave the y pipe my only concern is how much more louder would it be? im pritty sure it will be 100x louder cause im planing on taking out that submarine they call a resonator that thing is huge but yea any one ever done this befor? iv seen guys on here take off there muffler but left the res.

will it backfire like crazy lol i wouldent care cause i live in southern louisiana and smog and emission testing is a legend around here but what im probably gona do is just unbolt the pipe from the res to the y pipe just to see how it sounds and as for the muffler its geting completely taken off all it does now is rattle when i crank the car up ohh yea and as for a rasp it has a lil rasp rite at 2300 to 3400 rpm not much to bother me but im jus looking for a lil input befor i go out in the hot sun lol!

Be aware, removing all the exhaust will cause your torque curve to shift higher in the RPM band. On a street car, this is not desirable.

So while you may like how your car sounds, in reality you have lost performance. Louder doesn't always equal faster.

And please don't do cherry bombs on a G35. Those don't even sound good on V8's

Nah, that's too much typing for a troll...usually they just get to the point.

There's a couple videos on you tube of g's with open cats, there's also a video of a straight mid to lemon muffler. Get creative with your searches, also check pt the sticky at the top of the sedan section.

If you want to know what it sounds like, here's a video I took. In the video I have the resonator from the midpipe taken out and no muffler attached. It's VERY loud. I'd advise against it. Muffler delete alone is pretty loud (2nd & 3rd vid I posted)

No resonator, no muffler

No muffler #1

No muffler #2

Only difference between the 03-04 and 05-06 muffler setup is the bracket. Not sure which one the Motordyne was made for, but generally most mufflers are made for the 03-04 and then you need to buy a bracket for it to fit the 05-06. Before I knew this, a local muffler shop welded a piece that connects to the OEM bracket on my 06 when I bought my HKS muffler.

I like the sound of just the muffler delete, Maybe get a custom tip that still looks stock but isn't muffled

Two thing to think about before ricing out the exhaust.
1. It's a G35, its not your vtec pos that you do straight pipes to. It's a luxury vehicle with performance as a bonus.

2. It's a SEDAN, its luxury performance, with added comfort. Please don't rice the exhaust or any part of the vehicle for that matter. I understand you're entitled to do what you want, but its not a civic, eclipse, rsx, or any other ricer platform.

There's a few companies out there making decent sounding systems for the sedan. If that doesn't suit you, you can always have your shop install a custom system for about $600, and it will not sound like crappy. Just my .02
