Weak heated seats, anyone have a fix?

My fiance said that the passenger seat heater wasn't really getting all that warm. I didn't think much of it until I tried it myself and sure enough, it's not really getting that toasty. I can tell that it's on, but the 'HI' on the passenger seat feels like the 'LO' on the driver's seat. The passenger LO is barely noticeable.

Anyone know of any fixes for this?

I noticed the same thing - I was bringing home pizza for my family the other day and had the box on the front passenger seat, with the seat warmer on to keep the pizza hot for the drive. When I shut off the car and grabbed the pie though, the seat really didn't seem hot. Maybe it's common?

Our seat warmers arent the best but they should do the job after a few mins. Im sure they were not designed to keep food warm LOL!

Check your connections under the seat & make sure everything is right. When the dealer fix the air bag recall, they left something unplugged on mine. Only high worked, nothing on low".

My pass one is stronger than my drivers side. I had my pass seat replaced under warranty, so the heater was used maybe 3 times. Lo is all you need on that side.

Driver side...could be better. If I wear heavy winter clothes I can barely feel it. Does help though when it's 10 degrees and you need to clean the car off and don't want to sit in a cold seat when you get back in.

The seat was on hi for 15 minutes, never really got that warm

fart?
Oddly enough, I pulled that trick on my fiance when we first started dating. I had an old 96 GTI and she asked me "does this car have heated seats?" I looked her dead in the eye and said 'sure, press that button.' The button opened up the glovebox and I ripped a good 5 second growler at the same time.

"My seat is warm now."

I don't want her ripping *** in my car thoough, her farts smell like tire fires.

I would love to find some, got cash in hand for them too!

I have the exact same problem with my passenger seats in the 05 sedan! My driver's seat get's nice and toasty on high. But Passenger barely gets more than warm.

I never sit in the passenger seat ever So I don't care a whole lot, just wanted to let people know this may be a common problem.

Id i had a junk seat, i'd dissect it to see if the heating elements are something that wears out. But i don't want to tear apart my seat.

There are aftermarket kits you buy that you can put elements in an seat. I wonder if you can buy such a kit and retrofit it in place of the OEM wiring and use the factory wiring?

I guess i'd need to know where the seat heater is located though and if it's easily accessible without too much dissection.

This is perfectly normal.

Our heated seat system is a system that cycles the heat.

For example, it will heat the seat for about 15-20 mins, then it will cycle the system to a lower temperature, almost off. Then it'll turn itself back on a few minutes later.

This is to avoid messing up the leather on the seats as well as the foam cushions inside the seats.

I know Audi didn't use this system in their B6 (2001-2005) A4, and there were a few cases of melted seats, and sometimes even melted/burned clothing. (see below for example pictures)

Hope this helps.
