What did you guys do to smoke out your tail lights? Spray or a sheet of film? I am thinking about getting mine done, but I dont no which to choose. I called a few places and it seems over priced. $125+. I was planning on buying the film and applying it to myself. This is what I will be ordering if I do it myself. Going to get it in Dark Smoke. http://www.rvinyl.com/tail-light-tin...Sedan-2003.htm
Id prefer to use the film because if I dont want it on I can always peel it off.

Go to the bodyshop andbhavevem mix black paint with clear. Nothing will look cleaner than getting them proffesionally sprayed

If you really want the smoked out look go with overlays. That way if you get sick of them it can be easily removed.

True, but the VHT Spray tint comes off with a little Acetone. Works easily. Originally Posted by MikeDG

Kinda agree. Stock looks cleaner. Blacked out lights just doesn't look all that appealing IMHO

Did you have an overlay on the front and spray them as well?Originally Posted by jwrape
I have film on my G35 and I used VHT Nite SHades and a Clear coat on my Fiero. Here are both:

Yea, I understand that. I'm not over the top about it either. In the G35 case. I bought it that way and just told myself i will remove it when it starts to peel, but it stays in the garage and it's stuck pretty well. Originally Posted by Mustang5L5

The Fiero was really a must. The rear tail lights on those cars are hard to come by in good shape at all. Usually they are cracked and delabeled on the inside. Tinting it is the easiest and cheapest way to cover up the old delapadated lense and make the rear end look cleaner.
You can kinda see at the top of the lenses where they are seperated and there are some small cracks that are not fixable.

open up your tails and tint the inside housing only... if not I wouldn't tint the outside, but its your car...

If you are talking about the Fiero, you can take them apart but the delaminating on the inside is attached to the outter lense and MANY Fiero owners have tried to remove the laminating and failed after they break the 25 yr old brittle lense. There aren't many options other than tint or replace the lenses. I really didn't want to go that dark and I still might wet sand it some more to get it lighter. I was just trying to cover the imperfections. Originally Posted by GR6RR

On the G, I would rather have just the red lense on the rear and take apart the headlights and paint the housing inside

please don't use acetone! I'v tried cleaning them once with it, it will dry your plastic out and make it look cracked. i regret not going with overlays. i had my taillights professionally spray tinted not even a full year later they need to be redone, due to sun fading them. overlaying wont fade and comes off if needed.Originally Posted by jwrape
