I got my G35xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...

After months of deciding whether I should get the TSX, G35X or the new BMW 325xi, the answer had revealed today. I finally put a deposit on a 2005 black/black, moonroof, trunk mat, g35x. Will be picking it up the day before Christmas. That is some hell of Christmas present right before Christmas. After driving 13+ years on manual transmission, I am now stepping into the world of automatic. I wished they had manual for g35x but unfortunately that's not the case. I might just have to drive in steptronic mode all the time. One thing I noticed is, how come "wheel locks" are not an option? Also, did anyone get the splash guard? It looked weird to have another small molding on the side of the car. Can't wait! What is the break-in period? Will post pics next week!!!

I am happy for you. My G35X was my first automatic and I love it. I do not miss not shifting and if I want to use MM mode it is there. I enjoy the grip of the AWD, and the way it hauls butt. I have not heard of stolen wheels on this forum but have heard of stolen head lights.
Break in period is a subjective thing. I would say follow your manual on that one.
Enjoy your new ride.

I didn't get the premium package because it's a little over my budget. I only bought moonroof and trunk mat.

Thanks. Hmm...at first I had asked the salesperson that I wanted mud guards and he said it's not available. Maybe I got confused with mud guard vs splash guard. Now, I am wondering if it's an option or you need to get premium package to get that? Did you get wheel locks?

Mikkeeee, splashguards are a separate option and they are dealer installed. And yes I got the wheel locks. With some dealers they include the locks with others it is around an extra $35Can.

"x" auto

I had driven manual transmissions for 42 years when I got the G35x. It became a decision between the AWD with auto and the 6-speed without AWD. Prior car was an Audi A4 quattro with 5-speed. We love the x and don't miss the manual. The 5-speed auto is so good and smooth; shifts at 6,300 RPM with full throttle. I've used the self-shifting once in the year we've owned the car.

Admins - Can you shut this thread down?

I hate hearing about the X, cause I don't have one.

You X drivers should stop with the bragging!!!

Enjoy your rides guys. Maybe I will trade in my plain old G for an X?

In the loaners I get I use the MM mode for about 5 minutes and then the novelty wears off. I was hesitant to let the wife drive the loaners as I thought she would be chiding me on our choice of a 6MT. It turns out she doesn't care for the 5AT and is glad we opted for the 6MT.

Typhoon,

Don't feel bad. I can't do a burnout in my X.
