help driver seat emergency!

Ok guys I normally would use the search function but this is kind of an emergency. My seat does not move forward or backwards and it is stuck all the way forward because my girlfriend was driving it. I am 6'4" and now cannot even fit in the seat let alone drive! Is there a fuse or something that I can replace? The reclining switch is functioning properly, just not the other switch. Any help would be appreciated, I have work and school tomorrow

Do you hear noises/feel anything when you play with the forward/back switch? What I'm trying to figure out is if the motor's getting power or not. We have an issue with a small plastic gear going out on the sedan seats which is easy enough to replace. However, the symptoms of that seem to be more that one side of the seat moves while the other side doesn't.

If you feel/hear nothing then either there's an issue with the motor or the switch, neither of which will be fun to deal with. I would assume the fuse is fine if the tilt function works, I can't imagine there would be more than one fuse for the seat.

hey i am having the same problem with my seat... only one side of it is moving where can i find a new gear for it?

thanks

and for hawaii i was washing my car and pulled the seat all the way forward to vacuum the rear seats when i try to put the seat back in the normal spot it did not want to move back but i still heard the motor trying to move so what i did was took off the front cover on the seat that covers the seat motor on each of the seat rails there are 3 silver screws i took them off and this release the gear and shaft that connects each side of the gears to the motor make sure you clean any broken gear pieces off then re install that's what i did and got it to work again not working 100% but enough to move my seat back

There is a link to a thread for the seat gear if that is the problem.

I dont hear anything when i use the switch. The dealer said that they gave power to thr motor and it was able to work, so it must be the motor! I do not want to imagine how much it will cost. Any suggestions on what to do?

If I remember reading right, the drivers seat and passenger seat motors are the same. Swap it over there temporarily. I currently have the same problem, though its on the passenger seat.

Hit the switch the end of a screwdriver. I had the same problem but mine failed with the recline all the way down. I smacked it with a screwdriver and it worked ever since.

for me it was the switch. about a $200 part from the dealer and a easy swap in. When the passenger side acts up, they wont sale you just the switch, they want to replace the whole seat..... FOR $3K....

What I did was buy another driver side switch and rebuild the passenger side, been working fine ever since. The airbag light stayed on, so I took it to the dealer and they reset the light and hasnt gone on since.....
