M45 Shift **** on 1st Gen Sedan?

I just got a new M45 shift **** for my birthday, thinking it would be an easy swap like the 2nd gens are (ebay listing said it would fit a 1st gen)

However, the shaft in my 2006 G35X auto sedan is blue and square, the 2nd gens are round and white. Here is the DIY for a 2nd gen with pics:

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...hift-****.html

Has anyone mod'd the **** or shaft in a 1st Gen auto sedan to make this fit? I searched and nothing came up.

Thanks guys.

If some one can chime in, I will be buying one... I know you can mod it to work, but you will need a boot to wrap around so it's a little more eye pleasing...

No worries, you might want to PM Candlestick Park and find out where the discussion was on the conversion. IIRC it wasn't too difficult but did require some work.
