Now looking at an 04 G35x....

Well as my other thread states i was looking at an 06. It was nice and all but this 04 here on the same lot is in better condition outside and in

http://www.centralmotorsales.com/det...d-7780698.html

It has 93K miles. Both frong wheel bearings are gone but are in the trunk and they are going to put them in next week before i take it up to my mechanic to have him go through the entire car.

Any other issues with 04 over the 05/06 besides bearing and compression rods?

Carfax looks good. 3 car owner..all personal. Trans fluid was replaces 10K miles ago and engine module/computer was checked as well.

Car felt good driving just very noise and a humming vibration on highway..(from bother wheel bearings i take it)

Do these having timing chains? and if so when do they need to be replaced?

Timing chains never need to be replaced. Mechanically, they are the same as an 05-06. So if you really want to lower your payment, this is the way to go.

I just got the same car year and model type around the same miles too
Only issue I've had is the air tire sensors went off and had to be reset
And the 3rd brake light is out, a common issue with that car from what I've read

I love my 04x. Only been through brakes and the factory stereo head unit becasue it was messing with my a/c. Not sure what moron decided to run the a/c circuits through the stereo. Check the a/c heating controls. Only other issues has been passenger seat switch went out now one compression rod bushing is out and one CV boot both on the passenger side where the front wheels get more of the acceleration torque. Im at 80K miles and the car runs strong. My rear drivers side window wont roll down. Might be a switch I haven't messed with it. I love the Bose speakers but the original Bose headunit is a POS and needs to be replaced with something better. I modified mine some and have a little more to go.

Yeah i think i would upgrade this in the future (the radio that is)...is the ipod kit the same for this as it is for the 05/06? And where do you buy this kit?

One thing i also noticed. The car has a satellite antenna on the roof that someone put on..do you need this for XM?

This 04 has a cassette player as well..wonder if i could just get a cassette adaptor to hook up to my iphone?

Yea you can do that to. The little black satelite thing on the roof is from factory so all you need to do is make your subscription active.

It looks like it has moved since then to the left..but i am not worried. I pressed the SAT button and said no SAT..guess i just gotta resend signal to it

How well would a cassette player to ipod work for my iphone?
