Strong Electrical Short Smell

Hi Newbie here. Fairly experienced car enthusiast. Love the X (2004 X sedan). Strong electrical short smell from under the hood. Does not seem to directly enter the cabin. Seems to occur only after 30-40 minutes of driving. Concerned re fire or being stranded. Already checked TSBs. Any thoughts before I venture to the dealer? Driving my allroad till this gets sorted out. Thanks for your help!
