This is a warning to all who purchased their infiniti from Infiniti Of Thousand Oaks in California, or any dealership for that matter.

My Brake, Slip and VDC warning lights on the dash turned on together this week simultaneously. This has happened about four times now. Each time, without checking myself what could actually be wrong, I would take it to the infiniti dealership for them to look into the problem. Everytime they would inform me that the brakes or the brake pads needed to be changed and I would take their word for it. Since it was under waranty, it was free and I wouldn't think twice about it. I'd get my car back and the lights would be off and the car would be back to normal with the new brake pads, I WOULD SUPPOSE....

I called them today to ask why, yet again, my warning lights turned on. They said I'd need to come in tomorrow and get the brakes replaced. 300 dollars this time because I'm over the milage that the warranty covers. I was very disappointed because I started to wonder if this would be something I'd have to pay for every few months (as they've had to replace my brake pads about 4 times now in less than a year and a half, OR SO THEY SAY...)

I decided to look into it a little bit...

I opened up my hood and noticing that the brake fluid level was right between min and max level, I added some. When I started the car, the warning lights were off. It was only the brake fluid that needed replacing for a few bucks. The dealer was ready to make me pay 300 dollars for what I would believe were new brakes (which they probably never would've installed!) Don't trust your dealership. I've learned my lesson! Just wanted to share my story with you. Although, I'm sure most of you probably understand this already considering all the people I've talked to today who told me I should've never trusted the dealership in the first place.

I deal with Matt at Infiniti of T.O. on a regular basis. I haven't had any problems with their service as of yet. But I do know a lot about my car and I do know how to deal with "Dealers". So I only take it in for my routine oil changes (which are free), unless I know of a specific problem I can't handle on my own.

Those of us who bought our g's from Infiniti of T.O. get free oil changes for life

I've only been in twice so far (once for oil and another for tint) but both times they have been great. I have no gripes with them.
