What's up guys. I just wanted to introduce myself into the G35 sedan community. My DD, work car, is a 1993 G20 sedan. It has 235xxx miles and runs like a champ. I decided to stick with Infiniti, and just recently picked up a 2003 G35 sedan . Black on Black. I got it for a good price with 89,5xx miles on the odometer. Very clean inside and out.

I did have a headache my second day of owning it My G was plagued with the infamous radio/climate control defect. Bought on a Saturday, and was in Infiniti Service on Monday morning. After doing some research I found out that this is a very common problem. But before I had to get "stern" with the dealership, they agreed to fix the problem free of charge (Shout out to Infiniti of Hoffman Estates in Illinois!)

So far, I love the car. Makes me feel......grown up lol I've only gotten on it maybe once or twice. And neither of those times was WOT. The car drives nice and smooth. It is very roomy and comfortable. And I love the oem HID's. It doesn't hurt that I get the occasional double-look , sometimes, from the ladies I've been through a few cars (galant vr4, eg civic hb with motor swap and bolt ons, nissan 240sx, bolt on Evo 8, etc.) and I must say, this by far the most comfortable.

My first plans are to do a complete tune-up (Syn.motor Oil change, trans fluid change, rear diff. fluid change, spark plug change, and power steering fluid change). Then I want to get 35% tints all around and install a car starter (Chicago winters can be brutal). As far as performance mods go, I have been looking at a Stillen cat-back with oem cats (I do NOT want another overly, loud car), Stillen Z-tube with pop-charger, Motordyne plenum spacer, Tein h-techs or Eibach pro-kit, and oem 19in rays wheels or these, http://www.wheeldude.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=5785

Right now I'm at 92 miles with 3/4 tank left. I'm trying to get an idea of the mpg's the G gets.

I'm glad I found a forum as informative as this. Looking forward to the forward progress of my new G

Looks great!! Noob here myself!!!
MPG is pretty bad, but here's my take on it...
I had worse economy with my 99.5 QX4 (15 mpg was the best I have ever done - 15 so far is the worse I have gotten in the G35x (only filled up two times, and I have been aggressive - all city - over 20 on the hwy, with fairly aggressive driving (bought it four hours away). Anyway, the QX4 offered nothing in return for crappy economy. The G35 is a blast to drive and it's easily justified.

I'm happy to be back to Nissan!! This is my fourth.

Welcome bro!!

SONGLE6MT: No it's an auto. I specifically only looked for auto's. This will be my DD when there isn't a ton of snow on the street and I hate city driving with stick lol My other DD (G20) is stick. I also have a little project I've been working on, that I can bang gears in (Forged motor, big turbo, caged Honda civic...that is stick)

WHEREITCOUNTS: Just looked at the bumper. Looks almost identical to the NISMO bumper. Very nice. I was thinking about the the DIY front under lip mod. Have you seen it? https://g35driver.com/forums/interio...t-bumpers.html

RBLUE: I have been noticing that these cars are not that great for mpg's. But then again, if that was my main concern, I would've bought a Toyota Camry. I knew going into this, it had a beefy 3.5 v6. Like you said, I enjoy the ride/look/comfortness of the car over the semi-poor gas mileage. It's a pay off. Quick ?.... do you only use 93 premium? I'm usually a Shell Premium guy, but it's just soo pricey!

To everyone else, Thanks for the replies and welcoming me aboard

Auto's still have their perks! They are still fun cars regardless, and city driving does get old with a manual.
