Passenger airbag sensor light comes on in cold weather?
Hey guys.
Just noticed this in my car while driving to work. It comes on in the morning when the seats are very cold and the temps outside are below 30F.
I think it might be the seat leather shrinking to the point where its activating the air bag sensor. (Verified this theory as I put pressure on the seats with my palm on normal days and the passenger airbag light comes on)
Is anyone experiencing this issue?

there was a recall on our pass airbag recently like last year or early this year. DID YOU DO IT?
Cold weather should never have an effect on the airbag sensor. The pass seat airbag light should always be on when nothing is there, even with your hand there it should always be on. You need something like 60lbs in different areas of the seat to turn on the airbag and turn the light off. I say 60lbs because my bookbag doesn't trigger it and its about 20-30lbs. I put a 50lb bag of rice there and it didn't trigger it.
Light on means nothing in seat therefore airbag off.

My light stays off for the most part and only comes on when there is a little bit of pressure on the seat.
I've had the air bag recall done by the dealership and they never commented on the passenger airbag light being off and said that it is normal. I guess I shouldn't worry until the light come on while someone is sitting in the seat right?
