had a '97 5speed, now have a 2001 Anniversary DE-K.

Had a 2003 with the 3.5 and 6speed for a short while but the engine was junk.

In either case, I love the way the G drives in comparison, RWD and a much better turning circle are the biggest pros in comparison to a 3.5 maxima.

I have mixed feelings about the rear end (sedan) appearance though, but seeing what some of you have done to make them look good temps me. The 03/04 is just ugly though IMO

Also, your third gear will grind a little so be gentle with it. And prepare yourself to go from 1 to 3 when it's cold..forget about second gear...
At least i'm not the only one with this problem..

I have a helluva time getting this car into second when it's cold, and it always seems to grind second and third

Crappy part is you need 2nd the most when it's cold! At least when it's slick out

I've heard that mixing the two transmissions fluids 50/50 (equal parts of manual fluid and auto fluid) alleviates the issue.

Has anyone given that a try?

^I wouldn't do that, probably kill the sychro's faster. GL-4 or GL-5, Amsoil is my preference. I've heard switching to quality fliud helps most people out. Also in older trannies poor worn shift linkages were a big factor too. The main cause is just a crappy Nissan Tranny design.....Can't be permanantly helped really.

I always found double-clutching was the easiest way to get it into 2nd when cold.
