Goodbye G35...Total Loss

So like the title says, goodbye G35. Over Thanksgiving weekend I went to my friends house to kill time while I waited to pick up my girlfriend from work. When it was time to get my girl, my buddy and I went in his car. After picking up my girl and already back at my buddys place, I walked over to my car to get my wallet which I had forgotten, and I found my G smashed from the front. I thought it could only be the grille but when I inspected the car, the radiator was cracked, the radiator core support was broken, bumper and headlight smashed, and a few bends on the hood. The Dumba$$ responsible for this took off. I spoke with a lady across the street that said she saw a older truck pulling away and driving off from my car seconds after she heard the bang. Police report was made and insurance was called.

On monday morning Mossy Collision picked up my car to inspect and do an estimate for my insurance.**I did NOT pick the shop. my insurance decided to go with nissan/infiniti dealer bull$h!t** the total came out to be $9,437 for all repairs and labor on my car. Insurance said "NO" total loss. My payoff on the G is $10,000 and they valued my G at $15,000. I am now upset because c'mon, headlight, hood, fenders, radiator bumper, core support 9 grand????? I am now left without a vehicle and on public transportation.FML. It happens right...Oh well...thats my long boring heart break story about how I am now without a G35...

I'm sorry to hear about the hit and run, I would be extremely angry if I was in your situation.

I'm confused on why you don't have a car? It isn't a total loss, so they are fixing it, correct?

Total loss means the car is written off and he will receive a check for the car the car is done for straight to the auction. Sorry for your loss i'm surprised its so hight.

I'm sorry I misread his post. My understanding when I first read it was that insurance said "no" to the total loss, not the repairs. My mistake.

Hope this all works out for you somehow

I had more damage than that & my insurence fixed my car, 2003 G sedan with 60k miles. Maybe my car is valued at more? But I would either fight it or take the 15k and buy a new car

Thank you all for your kind words. Im only getting $5000 because i still owe $10000 to the finance company...the car only has 65xxx miles and its a 6mt...im just going to get the cash, save up like 3 months and get a turbo car...I love the G but knowing that it will be salvage I have no interest in it anymore...oh and reason why it was 9 grand was because my insurance went through the stealership

There isn't that much damage. Tell them to cut you a check for the estimated cost of the damage. Fix it yourself for 2 grand, sell the car and make a killing.

My G had more damage after hitting a deer. The front passenger air bag deployed. My radiator support, radiator, bumper, headlight, grille, and fender were all cracked. About 11K in repair costs that insurance covered. Your damage doesn't even look that bad. I could see that being fixed for 6K.

So if your car is hit and ran what effect does that have on your insurance?

Does the premium reflect that as an accident on your behalf or what??

I know the damage isnt bad...its all plastic...but i dont want to deal with any of this anymore...i was getting raped with no lube cause my interest on my G was at 25.9%...in a way this helped me out by eliminating payments and insane interest...now with 10k payed off and about a year establishing credit i can now get something else with less interest and monthly payments

Na bro. It was high because I had no credit. Not bad credit. Simply no credit. First time buyer, no co-signer, low down payment...the car is an 03. It was 11,300 off the lot + 2,500 down + interest @ 25.9%=about 20,000 over 47 month contract=FML
