Handling Problems
Handling Problems
I tried searching around but I have yet to find anything.
I recently traded in my '09 Civic Si in on a '08 G35. I love the car and it's crazy how much more power it has. Just makes my civic feel like riding a moped.
I used to autocross my civic a good bit and I was pretty good. I even started getting the heel toe stuff down.
On to my question. On corner exit my civic would never get sideways when I applied the throttle. If anything it would push the front end. This was very easy to drive. This car, on the other hand, swings the back end way out if I give it too much gas.
Is there something wrong? How can I fix/change this? Thanks in advance for your help. Sorry if I'm being a noob...

Its a rear wheel drive car. That's what happens. Your Honda was FWD. Completely diff animals. If you plan on tracking your car... practice. You went from 1 side of the bar to the polar opposite in just abt every way. Honda= Light, underpowered, FWD. G35= Heavy, powerful (to you for now), RWD. Good luck. Its not a steep learning curve but it will take effort to get it down.
Thanks for the advice so far. I'm not sure what camber is and I assume fwd rwd are abbreviations? Front weight distribution and rear weight distribution? Sorry I'm not very good with abbreviations.
Also @5150DS. I'm not sure why I put '09. It's a g35. Would have posted in the G37 section if I had a G37. Don't want to unorganize things. Guess I just put the same year for both cars.

FWD is Front Wheel Drive. RWD is Rear Wheel Drive. When you apply the throttle in a FWD the car is being pulled. When you do it in a RWD it is being pushed. So in your Honda stepping on the gas wld pull you out of the corner so the body of the car just followed the front wheels. That's y it was easy to drive. With the G you have to steer correctly and apply the right amount of pressure to the throttle so that thae car does not "step out" on you. Leave your VDC on at all times & remember to brake properly. Good luck
Its a lot of mechanical work & thousands of dollars to do this. It can be done but its very expensive... you might as well buy a new car for what you wld be paying to convert to FWD.
