I did it with my coupe using the Vertical Door Inc. bolt on kit. It was okay several years ago for show purposes but its been overplayed.
It will draw attention but there a PITA to constantly adjust for changes in weather.
Struts needed to be replaced about once a year.
Know longer have the hinges on car and its one less BS item to deal with.

Before a friend of mine decided to switch show cars, he got a quote for suicide doors from a body shop guy we know and he told him at least 2-3k per side. I agree with others, there other mods that kind of money can be spent on. If you are really wanting to do it, make it one of those later than sooner mods.

^Sweet, although lookslike the rear quarters didn't get painted to match the fresh door paint....
ANYways, I did some inspecting today and as expected, you guys are right I'm going to ditch this mod idea. It could be done but I don't want to get into that much fabbing. And probably closer to $200 because I'd need to buy decent steel. I just don't want to kill the door reliability, so thought with OEM door latches (If possible) I would be ok. The work to do them to the quality I would expect/want would be nuts.
Thanks for the opinions on this, I haven't explored the idea before so at least I know now. Besides all that, I did some hunting online and there just aren't that many cars that can pull off suicide doors in the rear, I don't think the G sedan could do it, it'd probably look bad. ie. That chrysler 300 that was posted, that looks aweful.
