I don't see the aftermarket going away with these cars. The platform, like any older car, is becoming more and more obtainable therefore the demand for go-fast and styling parts should only increase. The first gen has been out since around April 2002 so we're looking at nearly 10 years in the market now.

I've throughly enjoyed my 03 for the past 7 years and think it's one of the few timeless automotive designs. I've enjoyed all the mods I've done to it and hope my parents buy the car from me in the spring when I get a new WRX hatch. I really want to keep the G in the family.

i feel like the 1st gens are pretty classic, early 03's especially

- Debut of FM platform

- 1st US "Skyline"

- 2003 Motor Trend Car of the Year

I am just saying that if I somehow had to sell it, i'd buy a first gen again. I am not worried about not being able to pay for this car though.

Like you I prefer the body styling of the 1st gen over the 2nd gen. For aftermarket parts across the board I still think we have more than they do.
Yea Candlestick is right, there is still enough aftermarket option for the 1st Gen sedan to go around. Right now personally I'm still in the processing of modding my 1st gen sedan.

I have an 03 and I believe they look a lot better than the 05 - 06s at times. I kind of like the unpainted sills. They match quite nice when lowered correctly with nice rims that offset and contrast the sills.

To me, the unpainted sills kind of hinted the early designs of the R35 GTR. Because even now, the GTR has unpainted sills. And when you body match them, the GTR looks quite weird (IMO).

And the hood is more sporty. One thing I like in the 05-06 more is the grill and front bumper though.

But pretty soon though I believe our cars are going to be the next cheap drift cars. RWD, 6 speed, FM platform. Perfect drift combo. By THAT time, most cars are going to be boring automatic, and FWD....

Every car will become affordable eventually nothing new there. If you are worried about your car becoming the next civic or 240sx, then you should stick with owning newer cars. Sometimes I take a look at some of the older benz's and bmw's excluding AMG's or M's and well they really look outdated and boring. If you're an enthusiast about your car, you will know how to mod your car the proper way, make it look good, sound good, perform good. Just imagine if people lost interest in the NSX...NO WAY!!

SDGENIUS i totally agree with you!!

its not that im worried about it becoming the next civic its just i didnt think it would happen this quick lol i mean there's a **** ton of high school kids getting these as their "first" car but i can easily and wholeheartedly say mine is prob in way better condition with way less miles i have 50-51k currently on a 06 thanks to back to back deployments lol also it just saddens me seeing the car that i love with 200lb wheels from the local bling-mart audio place you know what i mean?
