if you could do it all over which would u buy
No regrets here but I would get RWD over the X if I could do it again. I have had no drivetrain issues over 7 years of ownership but really don't need the AWD here in Texas though it does come in handy at times. I purchased the car new while still living in NY and moved south less than a year after purchase.
As a person who has driven both RWD and X for about a year each I would say do not get the X
unless you live north of Maryland
You really will not need it at all and the extra weight will take away from the sportiness feel plus waste of gas.

I appreciate the input guys. I really think I'm going to stay with the rwd I don't rip canyon runs on the wknd. I'm just happy to get out of a fwd. second question I really want the 06 is there any benefit to it over the 05. My two options.
AWD would be pointless in Atlanta and an auto will be nice in the snail pace Atlanta traffic. You're not giving up any speed with the 5at either.I've driven my RWD G thru 7 Midwest, snowy winters on all season tires and have yet to get stuck. The X will be more costly mostly because of its dismal MPGs and additional maintenance.
I've been pretty happy with 2005 RWD, premium B, sport package, black on black w/ nav. I would have went with a 6MT but oil consumption issues kept me away. I did not want AWD, I didnt even look at any and I live outside Chicago. This is my 4th winter with my car and its been great. Snow tires, ABS, VDC, and the VLSD all work hand in hand, it drives great in the snow. I've had my car since 19K miles, and its been reliable with 83K on the clock now.
Worst decision of his life? Hahaha if that can go down as the worst decision he ever made I'd say he must have a nice life.
I agree with RWD. I lived in Duluth for several years. It snows maybe 10 days a year where AWD helps. In the rain, just slow down. I lived in Lansing Michigan with a WRX, those are tons of fun in the snow. Currently I'm in Columbia SC. We have a few days with snow, my RWD is just fine. No worries about mods fitting, slightly better gas mileage and fewer parts to break. Don't worry about the auto vs stick, the auto also has the option for shifting. Having sat in Atlanta traffic, you don't really want a manual anyway.
i have a x but i live in canada and the winter we get a lot of snow. good thing is i can turn it on and off, so during summer time i have rwd as well. nice little feature cause if you drive a lot you'll be able to tell the difference in pushing the car vs. all four wheels pulling the car. g35s waste gas as is, so the difference wouldn't be that much i don't think...plus, i cheap out and use regular anyways..been 40k daily driving not a problem or a ping or a knock.
Is Atlanta ghetto by any chance? I live in Southern California (Redondo Beach, nice area) and a friend of mine wanted to go there. I know most cities has it's ghetto areas and the last thing I want to happen is go to a bar/club and be surrounded by a ton of profanity, loud music and big chrome rims =/
I drive a 6 speed 04 G coupe. If you go with auto, I would at least get the 05 and up auto since they look that much nicer =) The coupe is really sexy but the sedan isn't too bad either. Very nice of you to consider your wife in your decision.
Good luck on your choice!
