How hard do you drive your car?
#61
I floor it just about every chance I get. I love feeling the pull of 306 horses. Whether it is zooming around the one person who liked to drive 35mph on a 50mph zone or lighting up the person next to me at a redlight. Only if the person next to me is driving a sports car though. I like to make the BMW guys feel bad when I smoke em off the line =P

My car (since I had it on late '10) has been floored 2-3 times. I say it sees 5k rpm every other drive. I'm more well rounded in the hard driving. Braking and corners are fun, too
That said, it is very highly maintained. I added a trans cooler and inline filter since the car sees alot of city miles. It is 94F here today and spent about twenty minutes in traffic and all day in <40 mph stoplight type stuff. That will raise tranny temps in a hurry. All front bushings replaced, new shocks, ALL fluids (yes brakes, too). I've replaced things most people don't dream to do like the little rubber things on the caliper slide pins and using new OEM nuts/bolts just cause I took the old ones off for the struts and shocks.
But that said... I have only driven my car 600ish miles since March '12. I haven't filled it up in about two weeks and still over half a tank.

05 g35 sedan, car has 101k miles. Probably red line it over 10 times/week. Has survived 20+ track days without a hitch. (gee, how many times do you red line at a track... probably over 300/day i guess) But I think I got lucky and just got a good car. I also shift pretty slowly and carefully, then slam on the gas when it's engaged. No need to burn the clutch off daily driving.
