Straight Pipes?!

should i straight pipe my 05 sedan 6mt
i want to keep my cats for smog
where should i start it from? after the cats or y pipe


kinda what it to sound like this


im not a gearhead so dont hate if i sound like i dont know what im talking about

a midpipe with a res delete is basically just putting a straight pipe? right
a buddy of my has one but has res delete
..

straight pipe = no cats no muffler no nothing except pipe. If you just want it to be louder and don't need to pass smog then get test pipes. they replace your cats with an open tube.

I didnt actually get straight pipes but I had a similar set up. I disconnected my muffler to see how it would sound like. And since I have test pipes (no cats) this IS technically straight pipes. It sounded exactly like this video and honestly after 2 days I got TOO annoyed and put the muffler back on. It was just waaaaaaaay too loud. with all windows up I still hear the sound. Dont get my wrong it sounds good but its just too much for a daily driver. I recommend an actual exhaust set up. Straight pipes are not practical at all.

But have a go and do the same thing I did. Disconnect your muffler and see if you want straight pipes after. Even with cats I bet it will still be annoyingly loud.

edit: lmao i just noticed they are both the same cars....

I've heard that when the car's cold it will be very raspy

Even test pipes are too raspy for my taste. I wouldn't do straight pipes. Makes it sound like an old muscle car. Ewww
