Winter Chemicals and Polished Lips - Help.

What is the best way to get salt/ dirt build up and oxidation from winter off polished lips? Tried using mothers polish and cone. Didnt help much.

I had some serious carbon build up on my MD twin tip and turtle wax metal polish, and elbow grease, made them look like they were brand new. Next time I do it I will post some pics.
