The rims were a sell for me also. I was looking for an '05 Sedan with the Sport-tuned suspension package which includes those rims but not the Premium package (trying to save a few pennies). Among the 3 dealerships in Dallas/Fort Worth, there were only a handful in inventory with that combination.

The paint is metallic, and it too shows up best in brighter light. My last car was black/black, and I agree that looks really sharp. I went with a light interior in part to be more compatible with Texas summers. Whether twilight blue will be easier to keep clean than black is yet to be determined; the car is still dealer-delivery fresh (but that won't be the case in a few days!)

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club! Your car looks sharp. I love the wheels. Funny how the 03 had 16", the 04 had 17" and now the 05 can get 18's. My G sedan has been great, have about 11000 miles on it and I call it Silver Bullet! 260 HP/260 ft lbs torque is plenty fast.

Thanks! Certainly wheels are a matter of taste and preference, but to my eye, these 18" wheels included in the '05 Sport Package look pretty darned good, almost aftermarket. Hmmmm 16">17">18" does look suspiciously preplanned by the G35 designers for year-after-year updates. I suppose we car enthusiasts are a predictable lot - just give us more power, bigger wheels, and more "bling" every year to keep new buyers lining up.
After driving a '97 Honda Prelude for 7 years and sitting just inches above the road, I like the extra height afforded by the G35. Plus, I no longer have to "wind up" my engine to high revs to get that push-you-back-in-your-seat torque we can get with 35. With the Prelude, the snap-action VTEC engagement provided a nice one-time kick, but with the G35, the powerful, unrelenting, continuous acceleration is even more of a rush!
