I changed my oil about 2,200 miles ago and it was right to the top...I know it my last car it didn't burn a drop so I don't know if this is normal or not.

Take it into the higher RPM's a lot?

Give us some info on your engine/car.

2005 X, 99,000 miles, probably rev it up to 5,000 rpm about once every 50 miles and 4,000 rpm about every 10 miles. I haven't floored it since December 23rd.

i find the dipstick to be absolutely meaningless. It is very tough to get an accurate reading with the angles etc. It is bound to hit something on the way up and throw off the reading

The readings have been pretty accurate for me. I've always checked it and the amount that it read always seemed correct (read full after an oil change etc).

From the "L" to the "H" is about a quart so 1/4 of a quart in 2200 miles? Lol nothing at all to worry about. Just make sure you keep up on your maintenance every 3/4 k and make sure it doesn't get worse.

the design of our dip stick hole is ridiculous. it is probably the hardest one to get a good read.
