Considering trading for a WRX.

Ok. I love my car but recently, I have been thinking about trading it for a wrx. I have an 05 G 6MT with about 60 k. I am thinking I can get 14k for it. Not quite sure. For that money, I was thinking I could get an 05-06 WRX for that. What do you guys think? I don' know if its worth it. They are a little faster but G's are just so much nicer.

Tough call.

I go back and forth about trading mine in for an STI all the time.

"My fast and furious days are over" = "I beat the **** outta this car"

100K miles from Granny Smith I would possibly consider so long as the car was maintained + there was some kind of paper trail confirming it.

100K+ miles from Dominic Toretto on Craigslist I would be wary about. You could always have it checked out by a shop, but that poor tranny I would be worried about.

I think that you would be taking a huge risk investing that much money in that car. Anyone can tell you that there car runs and drives great but the reality is he or she more than likely beat the **** out of it and now wants to move on. And 105k is a lot of miles on a car like that. If you do decide to go that route, make sure you check the turbo to make sure it isnt on its way out. I think you are much better off staying with your G untill you find something with less miles. Just my 2c

Also might want to get an insurance quote as well. I was actually getting a WRX until I was told the insurance would be $100+ more a month than for a G35. I have a crap driving record though.

The WRX is a great performer, but it's got a cheap-*** $15K Impreza econo-box interior.

If you can stand sitting in a sea of hard plastic, have at 'er.

I had and 03 WRX, not the STI though. It was a great little car, for four years. There is a large forum group NASIOC I think. Anyways, 105K is pretty high for a STI with those mods. It means the guy was a driver and those extra rims were for his auto crossing days. This car is probably not the best one. The interior is sorta cheap. I wouldn't go back to one, esp the STI with that huge wing. For me the G was a step up in lux and refinement.

Sucks knowing a wrx will beat me up, but then again, so will lots of cars. Its all about what you are looking for in a car. If you want to mod your car for performance, race, and autocross... then I would sell your infiniti. If you like to cruise around town feeling like the most interesting man in the world.... keep it and don't ever wish you had a wrx again. good luck with you decision.

A guy that had an 05 G and sold it for a brand new STI 2012, and he hates it. Songle's cars previous owner bought one brand new and he hates it... rattles, keeps going into the dealer, etc. He told Songle that he wished he would have kept the G. lol.
