Definitely a drop to eliminate wheel gap, so springs or some coilovers. Might even wanna do that first depending on what kind of 19s you get and the offsets.

Unless you're going with coilovers, wouldn't wheels be better to get first rather than the drop? Or are you guys assuming he's going with coilovers?

Put wheels and drop almost or at the same time. Wheels with no drop looks corny

Agree with wheels then drop. No drop with wheel is no good. Any drop with some wheels is definitely better.

Do you want to be on springs or coilovers?

^ did you just contradict yourself?

"Agree with wheels then drop" - so wheels first, then drop
"No drop with wheel is no good" - drop first, then wheels
"any drop with some wheels is better" - drop first, then wheels

Everyone has suggested a drop so far, so I'm going to go out on a limb and help with narrowing down some suggestions.

First, OP, how much are you willing to drop on wheels, as well as tires for them? Your budget can open up a ton of options, or can narrow them down to just a couple companies. New, authentic/high quality sets run upwards of $4k, used on the forums ~$2k-3.2k. Replicas, new can be at or a little above a grand, used aren't that much cheaper.

OP should really consider the coupe 19s route. There is a XXR wheel that has the black/chrome lip look you want. Depending on your city or near by cities, searching 'infiniti' on craigs list will eventually bring up a set with or w/o tires for under $1000. If the OP had $3000 to spend on wheels, he probably woulda picked up a newer model G instead. I agree with most of the others stating a drop should be the first mod, but those 17s should be changed soon after. The other typical first mods of a K&N, Z-tube, Spacer, Y-back or Cat-back exhaust. Anyway, good luck with the searching and modding. Post your progress for feedback from the community.

So im guessing a drop is a must which i totally agree but what is the difference between springs and coilover. Is one more expensive than the other..I seen a set of Eibach springs the Pro-kit or Sportline..I dont want my car slammed just enough of a drop so theres no gaps..I dont like the black lining all along the bottom either what would be a good kits nothing to expensive.
