Unhappy Weird noise clueless??

So on Friday on my way to work I heard a weird ticking rattle sound coming from the front of my car . I parked and rev the motor and couple times and then the noise went away and I drove away fine . Soon as I pull onto my Job I hear it again but very lightly wtf I'm thinking maybe it a heat shield and I do have a coupe mid pipe so I think it might be that

So I left the car parked over the weekend and today I drove it heard nothing untill lunch time when I turned the car on and left it running and started loping for weird sounds and bam the sound came back and I could clearly hear it it was coming from my engine area ...... I got in the. Car and drove to a gas station and put in 1 quart of oil to make sure I wasn't low on oil even though I checked the dip stick three times and
The retarted stick measures ok but only on the back part of the stick not the front were
It says h and l ......
Anyway after i left the sound went away idk if it was because of the oil or because it was just time for it to go away like usual .... Sorry for the long story but wtf can it be my car rides fine and no engine light has came on or nothing I'm puzzled

The sound sounded almost like a rattle tick I don't think it's any heat shield but idk any suggestion ??? Help please car is just now about to hit 90k and I had it since 74k for 2 years it's a 03 sedan

I get the same sound sometimes and it's 99 percent of the time its my cold air intake hitting on something on the frame. If you not experiencing a loss of power it's probably nothing.
just make sure you have plenty of oil in your car

Normally you don't get a rattle associated with low oil until you are at least 2 quarts low. If you are this low you should monitor your oil more closely and keep from getting to that point again.

If your problem doesn't(didn/t) go away, try taking a video because sounds can be hard to "diagnose" across the internet

Yea no loss in power at all car runs normal I just heard the noise it went away complety

I have a question when you check the oil on the dip stick it reads h but on the oppisite Side of the stick on the actual reading side there is never no oil even after I put in the extra quart and I always check after the car has been parked for a couple of hours or in the morn and like I mentioned above I haven't hit 3k since my last oil change yet so I think it's fine besides the retarted stick readings

this happened to me 2 months, a knocking sound coming from inside engine passenger side. I had changed my oil 1000 miles before and i didnt insert the dip stick in all the way and lost prob a couple quarts of oil. wondered why i started seeing oil leaks in my garage:/ changed the oil the next day and the noise has been gone since. Glad i acted quickly

I recently experienced a thumping noise (constant pumping noise) coming from the passenger area. You cannot hear the noise outside the car, nor from the engine bay. After extensive research, my problem is the fuel damper which dampens the noise from the fuel pump. My problem is nothing serious at all, it's just annoying. However, I still plan to change that valve which dampens the pumping noise. The part is about $68 Infiniti online. There is a TBS for it, ITB06-012. Check to see if you have the same problem.

Op, how long after you stop your car are you checking the oil? You need to wait at least 5 minutes after turning off the car so the oil in the top end drains back into the pan.

so i never heard the weird noise again after i put in the quart of oil last week.
I got a oil change saturday and checked the dipstick sunday morn and wow i was low on oil it actually reads on the
H and it even drips a little when i pull the stick out .....its weird though i wasn't due for another oil change for another 500 miles....

whatever hopefully that was the problem

I'm going to be checkin up on my oil more often and see whats really the norm for oil regarding the dip stick measurement

i can finally ride around with my music on again Lmao !!!

This is a long shot since the noise has stopped Recently my wife's G35 had a similar noise. It was intermittent and irritating. Went to my local mechanic (Corner 3 Garage) and they determined it was a broken catalytic converter mount. They welded it and all is good. You might want to check just in case.
