2005 X model- wanting to add stock navi

Im asking for my freind who owns a 05 G35 X sedan. He wants some type of figure of how much it would cost to add the stock oem navi to his car? Dose anyone here know or has anyone done this?! Thanks in advance

Too much work.

Plus, OEM Navi is ****. Well at least for our cars, the newer Gs is better because it's not a motorized screen.

I wouldn't install stock navi in my car if you gave it to me free.

I wouldn't install stock navi in my car if you paid me to put it in.

It was out of date when that navi software was released a decade ago, why would you want it now?

Oh and have fun either splicing together your own wiring harness, or stripping the dash completely to get a navi wiring harness put in:

Go with something aftermarket. I have the stock navi and it's really not all that great.

Something with voice commands would be nice

As others have said...too much work and complex for something that is outdated.

If you friend wants something simple and cost effective, a portable until will do. If you want something fancier with voice commands while upgrading the problematic stock head unit, go with a double din with integrated nav. Personally, I say the latter...this is what I did...and I have the factory nav.

An older Garmin Nuvi 5000 works great in my cubby. 5.5" widescreen plus it has a video input which runs off my iphone with audio going into the stock deck for music videos. Fits PERFECT. Lots of people actually think it's stock nav.

Joystick dose suck. It reminds me of the N64 controller joystick a little. The N64 one was much cooler tho
