midpipe mod? a nice sounding option?

So I have been scouring local fs sites for a midpipe but aren't having much luck. I looked on youtube and found videos of sedans with magnaflow resonators in place of factory ones. I really like the sound but can't find a part number for the magnaflow. I have a 03 sedan...does anyone know which magnaflow resonator works? Thanks in advance everyone!!

They add a little sound, but in your case you will drop a bunch of weight.

Ya, that's a bonus too. You don't happen to know which one works?

I'm sorry, I guess I should have mentioned I'm from Ontario Canada. I've seen them for sale and sold on the forums for 50 - 80 but they seem to sell before I can get my hands on them.

Midpipe doesn't affect the sound all that much. It does, but if you want something noticeable, start with the muffler. Once you change that, then changing the midpipe will have a different tone to it depending on what you do.

Some youtube videos have just the midpipe mod with stock muffler and I like it. But, you're right..the muffler is going to come into play soon

Try the Magnaflow 10436.

Amazon Amazon

I just installed one a few weeks ago on my 2004.5 and the car sounds the way it should have sounded from the factory. It's not a bolt on, but any reputable muffler shop can make it look right.

Wife friendly, no rattles, nice tone, no rasp and little to no drone.

Save about 30lbs as well.

This one should be up there with the Z-Tube and 5/16 Plenum spacer as must have mods for any 1st gen sedan.

I see that is 2.5 inch inlet and outlet...is that the diameter of our stock exhaust?

Yes, just 2.5".

I worried about this at first as well since there are some conflicting posts on the boards regarding this subject, especially in the area where the Y-Pipe transitions into the midpipe. Essentially what the exhaust shop will do is cut out the resonator portion of the stock midpipe, and weld in the new Magnaflow muffler.

Once installed, it looks stock because it tucks up in there under the heat shield nicely, just like the coupe midpipe (I found these much more difficult to find used).

Additionally, I have found a few guys that run this Magnaflow muffler on the G with some success:
Amazon Amazon

That one may exist as a second phase, but for now I am happy with the way the car sounds and performs.
