It comes down to dollars and cents. While there might be a demand, is it enough to sustain the cost of all the R&D it takes to bring a car like this to market?

Remember up until recently Nissan wasn't doing too good. Now that they have had some success's, they will have more money to work with. They have already started on the GTR to bring over in 2007 so then you will have a car you have been talking about.

Look at the 350Z S and R tune. 42 and 48k, not one enigine mod. Everything is suspension or looks. That is Vette territory and we all would get that instead.

I suspect if u want more, wait for the GT-R R35.
Depends on which VQ. The VQ (3.0L) is FIed in Japan so just because we don't see it here, doesn't mean it doesn't exist

Madabs,
I guess the Infiniti you are looking for is the M35 and M45.

Exactly what I was thinking while reading this thread...If Infiniti is going to do a sport division they have to do it right straight out of the gate. You're talking about cars that will be measured against legends like the M3 and M5, and usually are accompanied by factory sponsored race teams. Screw it up with a half assed attempt and you will do tremendous harm to the brand as a whole. It takes time and lots of money for such an undertaking...Money which Nissan didn't have only a few years ago.

I agree with almost everyone who replied to this thread. We bought our G's not because it is super fast, and it is not. Many cars could put up a good fight against us or even beat us, so what? Do they have the good look of our car? Do they wear a Infiniti badge and get so good service at dealer? Do they have such a smooth and linearly torquey engine? Also, do they have so high reliability? Any car company could put in a supercharger or turbocharger in their cars and pump up the horsepower all they want, is this what you want? So what their cars are a second faster to 60mph? Do you really care that much? I personally do not. That's why I do not like to compare only horsepower or 0-60 time, because this way you could almost compare anything to anything else, like SLK350 to 330i, or Evo to TL, or even Cobalt SS to our beloved G.
