Hey forum buddies, I was wondering if it makes a big difference in sound if you add the coupes Y-pipe to the sedan. Please let me know your opinions. My buddy with the coupe is getting exhaust and he'll sell me his. I'm a poor 18 year old thats just trying to make some sort of difference.

No sorry to say it won't. All G's and Z's us the same Y-pipe part. You will gain nothing sound wise or performance wise by installing a coupe or 350Z oem Y-pipe on your car. The G35X because of the location of it's transfer case uses a different Y-pipe as does the FX.

Your best bet is to buy a coupe mid pipe and install that for a sound change. Though it likely has the same pipe diameter constriction that the oem sedan mid pipe suffers from at the premuffler.

So buddy do you think adding a g35 coupe midpipe will change the sound at all? I want something more aggressive sounding. I wish I had that awesome exhaust snarl from a 350z or the coupe.

"mid-pipe" will change sound. Makes it sound more aggressive at idle and around 2500rpm.

Im going to install one on my sedan this weekend. I will post my reviews after driving it around for a few days.

Do a search. A few forum members have the coupe mid section on their stock G's

Good luck
