I received a recall notice on my G35 to have the tamper proof cap on the headlamp assembly over the weekend. Is this new or it's just late.

I think it's just late. Many have had this done several months ago.

And it's not something you need to rush to the dealer to get, either. There are no functional or safety concerns, other than Infiniti's liability if you were to manually adjust the beams to blind other drivers. Let them install it next time you happen to be in for something else.

Just received my recall notice in the mail today as well. Bought it on 12-23. Looks like they took their own precious time!!!
